Inner Artist Academy

For seven years, we dedicated our work to teaching classical realism. We focused on the foundational skills of observation, precision, and technique — the tools that allow artists to capture the beauty of the world around them. During those years, we had the privilege of working closely with hundreds of students, each bringing their own motivations, challenges, and aspirations to the classroom.

Through this work, one thing became clear: our students were not just learning to paint or draw. They were searching for something deeper — a way to connect with themselves, their creativity, and the meaning behind their art.

A Personal Turning Point

This realization deeply touched my own journey. For years, I had focused on creating and teaching art, honing my skills, and sharing what I had learned. But over time, the joy of creating began to fade, replaced by feelings of frustration and doubt. I wasn’t just creatively blocked — I had lost touch with the reason I wanted to create in the first place. I realized that something had to change.

Both Tuomas and I had always thought about wanting to teach our students more about the deeper side of creating art.

On top of that, we also noticed that many of our students were seeking something more than technical proficiency. They wanted to uncover the deeper meaning behind their art and make it personally significant. 

These realizations led to the creation of Inner Artist Academy — a place where art becomes a journey of self-discovery, connection, and purpose.

The Birth of Inner Artist Academy

Inspired by these experiences, we decided it was time to take a new path. We didn’t abandon our classical roots; instead, we chose to build on them. The technical skills we taught were valuable, but we realized they were just one part of a larger picture.

Inner Artist Academy was born from a desire to help artists connect with their inner world and create with purpose. We believe that art isn’t just about technique — it’s about vision, intention, and authenticity.

Our courses guide students through a process of self-discovery, helping them explore their motivations, identify their values, and express themselves in ways that feel meaningful and fulfilling.
